Words cannot express my gratitude to every volunteer and individual donor. I would not be standing here without the tireless efforts of everyone. I also want to thank my son, Michael, who has been with me since the beginning. Thank you Michael, you can now get some more sleep!
This has been a humbling experience and I offer my deepest respect and congratulations to Don Davies on his success and his ability to connect and perseverance. I deeply admire and commend him for a great campaign.
I’ve always believed that Vancouver-Kingsway is an already vibrant and bright community that has so much more potential, and we can make this community a great place to live, work, and play so we can all get ahead. We all believe that Vancouver-Kingsway needs to be a more affordable place and while we have different views of how to achieve that, at the end of the day we are all in this together.
Mr. Davies has achieved a great feat to continue to be an active voice for Vancouver-Kingsway. I applaud him for it and offer my empathies to his family for letting him be away from home for many days, serving his constituents.
I ask all my friends who have supported me to join me in not just congratulating him but offering our next Member of Parliament our best wishes and earnest efforts to find ways to come together to make life more affordable for Vancouver-Kingsway.
I have called both Don Davies and Tamara Taggart. I thanked both of them for their passion for this community and I look forward to working with them going forward.
At the end of the day, it’s us as a community, not NDP, Liberal, Green or even Conservative.
It is an honour and deep privilege of my life to be able to say, thank you, and thank you to everyone for supporting me as your candidate!
